Sept. 18, 2016 -- Tibet should make more efforts to develop self-driving supporting systems to upgrade its tourism industry, experts said at the 3rd China Tibet International Tourism and Culture Expo in Lhasa.
"Now the self-driving tour market in Tibet is at a fledging stage and should be developed and regulated. Tibet can upgrade infrastructure along the main self-driving routes, for example, road and service areas reconstruction," said Kang Guoming, general manager of the China Youth Tour Service(CYTS).
"I can see a lot of beautiful scenery when driving from Lhasa to Beijing. Yet when traffic jam occurs at night, I have to sleep in my car. It is necessary to build a supporting system for self-driving tourists in Tibet," said a self-driving fan.
Developing self-driving tourism will inject more vitality to Tibet’s tourism market, experts said.
