To upgrade tourism industry

Tibet is a well-known travel destination for its unique natural scenery and profound religious culture.

As an important driving force for economic growth, tourism and culture is Tibet’s pillar industry with huge potential."The coexistence of tourism resources and culture is an inevitable choice for Tibet to optimize the economic structure and transform the development mode," said Losang Jamcan, chairman of Tibet Autonomous Region.

The Expo will serve as a trading platform for Tibet tourism products.

To promote international cooperation

The EXPO will bring more international business opportunities to Tibet.

The previous EXPOs have witnessed tremendous achievements. Attended by a large number of overseas travel agencies and representatives, the EXPO has a growing influence. The number of trade and investment agreements signed has increased dramatically, so does the total investment amount.

To coordinate with the “Belt and Road” initiative

The "Belt and Road" initiative has brought new opportunities for Tibet’s development. Tibet will further open itself up, strengthen exchanges with Southeast Asian countries, and consolidate friendship through in-depth cooperation.

During the upcoming EXPO, a forum themed the "Belt and Road" and Tibet’s tourism and cultural development will be held.
