Leaving-Tibet train tickets extremely hard to get at present

July 27, 2016 -- In recent years, centered on building a "world tourist destination", forging the tourism brand of "High mountains, Snow-covered plateau, Sunshine and Tibetan culture", as well as continuously  enriching and perfecting tourism products, Tibet has been steadily promoting the brand popularity of "Tourism in Tibet".
 
Since the begining of July, Lhasa has entered into the summer tourism peak period. Since the 11th day of this month, the number of daily tourists getting in and out of Tibet is about 15,000, among which the number of passengers originated is about 6,600.
 
As the tourism in Tibet is heating up, the volume of passengers getting in and out of Tibet has been on the rise as well. It is reported that since the begining of July, Lhasa Railway Station sends an average of 6,536 passengers daily, and receives an average of 7,279 passengers daily. 
 
In 2015, Tibet received an accumulated total of over 20 million tourists, and the annual tourism revenue in Tibet totaled 28 billion yuan RMB. At present, a large number of tourists have come to Tibet to visit scenic spots like Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Yamdrok Lake, Mt. Qomolangma and so on. Moreover, the number of tourists coming to Tibet will be continuously increasing.
As the tickets to Tibet and out of Tibet are hard to get during the peak tourism season, tourists usually need to book tickets in advance.
 
With a history of over 1,300 years, Lhasa’s Potala Palace is the world's highest place integrating palace, castle and monastery. Moreover, Potala Palace was listed as one of major national historical and cultural sites in 1961 and was inscribed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 1994. 
 
Warm reminder from the staff of Lhasa Railway Station, passengers should arrive at the railway station one hour earlier to go through the formalities for taking trains. Besides, tickets of leaving Tibet are extraordinaily hard to get, therefore tourists leaving Tiebt need to book tickets in advance.
