Tibet's First 24-hour self-service library to be put into use in August

July 26, 2016 -- Recently, a new equipment of the 24-hour self-service library has been placed at the gate of Tibet Autonomous Region's Library. 
 
At present, a total of two equipments have been purchased. One has been placed at the gate of Tibet Autonomous Region's Library, the other is planed to put in the yard of Tibet Autonomous Region’s Government. The 24-hour self-service library contains about 500 books, involving various aspects of art, religion, folk custom etc. After it is officially put into use, the staff from Tibet Autonomous Region's Library will change and replenish the books according to the situation of reader's borrowing and reading.
 
Citizens need to pay a deposit for book-borrowing authorization while using 24-hour self-service library for the first time. It is said that the equipment can realize 24-hour self-borrowing and self-returning books, card handling, renewal and so on. The structure of electrically operated gate can realize self-closing when one reader is operating. What is more, this equipment can automatically identify the books borrowed and returned so as to complete the process of automatically shelving books.
