Tibetan athlete to take part in the Rio Olympic Games

July 20, 2016 -- Tobgye, a famous middle-long-distance race athlete in Tibet, will take part in the Marathon event in the track and field events in the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Since the Tibetan archer athlete Dorje Qiuyun took part in the Seoul Olympic Games in 1988, Tibetan athlete will take pat in the Olympic Games again for the second time. What's more, it is the first time for Tibetan athlete to participate in the track and field events.
 
Born in Dagze County, Lhasa City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region, Tobgye is a national athlete. He has taken part in a lot of international and domestic games, and obtained good results since 2012.
 
Tobgye's participation in Olympic Games not only shows that Tibet's competitive sports level has been improved, but also demonstrates to the world that Tibet has gained great achievements in social and economic development.
