The 1st Airbus A330 wide-body jet launched in Tibet

July 5, 2016 -- On July 1, the 1st Airbus A330 wide-body jet of Tibet Airlines co., LTD was smoothly launched in Lhasa, which marked that Tibet airlines formally entering the era of "wide-body jet".
 
Ding Ye, member of the standing committee of the CPC of Tibet Autonomous Region, attended the ceremony and presented speech.
 
With the efforts of the staff of Tibet Airlines, the size of aviation fleet grows gradually, the airline-network improves fast, the transportation production increases rapidly and the safe operation continues staidly since it has been set up and operated for 5 years.
 
The maximum take-off weight of the Airbus A330 wide-body jet is 242 tons, which is the first of its kind in China. What's more, it is also the first kind of wide-body jet that possesses advanced navigation ability in the world. The wide-body jet has many advantages on seats, cruding range, and plateau operation, which is conductive to the development of Tibet airlines and has landmark significant meanings.
 
At present, it is a critical stage for Tibet to build a well-off society and it also provides a new historic opportunity for the development of civil aviation industry. Tibet Airlines and related departments should take advantage of air transportation, improve service quality, promote the development of Tibet's civil aviation, and make contribution to the three-dimensional integrated transportation system and Tibet's long and steady development.
 
The daily flight TV9823/24 Chengdu-Lhasa-Chengdu and TV9815/16 Lhasa-Beijing-Lhasa will provide more choices and convenient for people traveling in and out of Tibet during the summer. In addition, Tibet Airlines will open a first international route from Chengdu to Samui in the middle of July.
