Lhasa receives tourism revenue of 2.766 bln yuan in first five months of 2016

June 30, 2016 -- In the first five months of 2016, Lhasa totally received 1.8524 million tourists from home and abroad, rising by 15.41% year-on-year and tourism revenue reached 2.766 billion yuan, up 29.43% year-on-year. Among them, total foreign exchange earnings achieved 14.2 million dollars, according to Lhasa Tourism Bureau.
 
Besides, Lhasa newly increased one 4A scenic area and one 3A scenic area, newly purchased 1,300 tourist passenger vehicles and 260 route vehicles, newly built 3 tourist passenger businesses.
 
Meanwhile, they set up tourist passenger service information platform and took a series of effective measures to improve tourist environment and tourism image, laying a sound foundation for building Lhasa to be an international cultural tourism city.
 
It is reported that the tourism bureau also carried out tourism poverty alleviation by tourism service training to increase incomes of local people.
