Qinghai-Tibet Railway to add five stations

June 28, 2016 -- According to Qinghai-Tibet Railway Company, the expansion project of Qinghai-Tibet Railway from Golmud to Lhasa has been in full swing. This project starting from Kunlun Bridge Station will add five new stations and rebuild six.
Environmental project is the main part during the period of project, in order to prevent destructing the environment.
With a total length of 1,956 kilometers, Qinghai-Tibet Railway is the highest railway in the world. The Qinghai-Tibet Railway began operation on July 1, 2016, introducing railway transportation into Tibet for the first time in history. According to the data, Qinghai-Tibet Railway has transported a total of 115 million passengers and 448 million tons until May 31 of 2016.
