Chinese mountaineers hone their survival skills

The romance surrounding mountaineering belies the reality of challenge and perseverance, as well as the dangers of thin air, frostbite, hypothermia, and high winds.
 
"We need more skills like skiing for survival," says team leader Pasang Tsering.

The local government is also planning a ski team as it sought to attract skiers and climbers.
