Nov. 12, 2018 -- On the morning of November 8, the 4th Popularization & Training Course for Thangka inheritors was held on schedule in Lhasa City, southwest China's Tibet Autonomous Region. 57 trainees of various Thangka schools in Tibet participated in the one-month training. The training was undertaken by the Faculty of Arts of Tibet University. Experts, scholars and inheritors in the Thangka field in Tibet were invited to give lectures. The main contents of the training include the Thangka theory, exchanges and seminars, special lectures and investigations, etc. Khedrup, a researcher of the intangible cultural heritage bureau of the Tibet Department of Culture, said that in recent years, Tangka art in Tibet had been fully developed, which had become an important symbol of the achievements of cultural protection and an important brand of cultural development, and an important channel for the whole society to pay attention to cultural hotspots and increase people's income. This training will further expand the influence of Thangka art in Tibet and provide a guarantee for protection and inheritance of Thangka painting art. |
