Panchen Lama visits pastureland for inspection and research
By:China Tibet Online
update:August 01,2018

Tibet is an important area for the implementation of ecological protection in China. The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is also an area in which China prohibits the development of heavy industry.

Tibet is currently focusing on exploring ways to find a modern animal husbandry industry that integrates environmental protection and poverty alleviation.

The pasture has developed a kind of small-scale, simplified, daily-used, and localized livestock processing equipment that is suitable for the high altitude and established a yak-breeding base.

They are currently able to process 500 kilograms of fresh yak milk per day, and annual sales of dairy products can reach more than 600,000 yuan (88109.6 US dollars).

Visiting the Panchen Lama

Local farmers and nomads heard of the Panchen Lama's arrival, adorning their best yaks and dressing themselves in their best clothes to wait by the roadside, hoping to receive the blessing of the Panchen Lama and dedicate their livestock to him.
