Sep.1,2017-- A Tibetan culture exchange delegation visited Canberra, Australia on Wednesday.

The delegation sat down with local officials, scholars and journalists to introduce Tibetan history, culture, religion, and the current development.

The delegation gave a detailed introduction of Tibet’s achievements in economic and social development, protection of Tibetan cultural heritage and language as well as the reincarnation system for the Living Buddhas.

Wang Yanwen, head of the delegation and also vice inspector of the Human Rights Bureau of the State Council Information Office (SCIO), said Tibet has been part of China since ancient times and the Chinese government strongly opposes any nation colluding with the Dalai clique to interfere with China’s internal affairs. The delegation is to help Australian people to get a true picture of today’s Tibet.

In terms of human rights development in Tibet, Wang said the Chinese government has been respecting Tibetan culture and religious customs. A variety of favorable polices has been put in place to improve Tibetan people’s living standards.

Australia scholars and journalists hoped to learn more about Tibet through more cultural delegations in the future.
