Aug.8, 2016 -- The 6th Beijing International Seminar on Tibetan Studies was concluded in Beijing on Aug.4.

The seminar was an occasion for experts across the world to exchange views onTibetology studies and reflect on the future.

"In recent years, China’s Tibetology researches have been much closer to Tibetan society," Lian Xiangmin, head of the Contemporary Studies Institute of the China Tibetology Research Center (CTRC), told China News Service.

"China’s Tibetology researches have been developing in a faster speed than any other country over the past 30 years," said Zhang Yun, head of the Institute of History of the CTRC, adding that “more young people are encouraged to do Tibetology research.”

"Every other year, China holds the seminar on Tibet studies, which indicates China’s Tibetology researches improving very fast. China should work with other countries and share its achievements," said Ernst Steinkellner, a well-know Tibetologist from Austrian Academy of Sciences.

"China’s Tibetology researches aim to safeguard national unity and promote the development of Tibetan regions. Researches should keep a close eye on China’s realities such as the ‘Belt and  Road’ initiative, ecological protection and targeted poverty relief," added Lian.
