June 24, 2016 -- An art exhibition on Tibet-themed calligraphy, painting and photography was launched in the Nanxiang Cultural and Sports Center on June 20, in celebration of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the CPC, local media reported.

Over 100 works, created by those who have dedicated their lives to the construction and development of Tibet, were on display.

The exhibition, held several days before the Party's birthday, which falls on July 1 every year, also marks the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Long March and the 20th anniversary of Shanghai's aid to Tibet.

The art show is the first of its kind sponsored by the Shanghai Aiding Tibet Association since its inception 20 years ago.

The association says it plans to set up a Shanghai-Tibet culture salon since it has many members with drawing, calligraphy and photography abilities.

The salon is expected to function as a platform for members to exchange skills and show off their talents.
