Tourism becomes hot in SW China’s Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture

Oct. 11, 2018 -- Autumn is the most beautiful time of a year for Li County in Ngawa Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan province. Li County is now inviting people from all over the world for a special Autumn and Winter tour, to enjoy the red leaves, bathe in the hot springs, play in the snow, stay in stockade villages, and experience Tibetan and Qiang culture.

It is learned that this year’s Red Leaf & Hot Spring Festival will be held from October 25 to 26 in Ganbao Tibetan Village, Li County.

“Enjoy the red leaves, bathe in the hot springs, stay in stockade villages, and experience Tibetan and Qiang culture” has become the motto of Li County tourism, and it has attracted many tourists to come and visit. In 2017, more than 5.07 million visitors came to Li County, bringing in a total tourism revenue of 3.473 billion yuan (503 million US dollars). Based on last year’s growth, the number of visitors this year is expected to exceed 6 million, and the total revenue is expected to exceed 4 billion yuan (580 million US dollars).
