Cordyceps production in Qinghai ranks first in China
By:China Tibet Online
update:January 17,2019
Jan. 17, 2019 -- According to research, the production of Cordyceps in Qinghai province exceeds that of Tibet, Sichuan, Gansu, and Yunnan provinces, ranking first in the country and accounting for 60 percent of China’s total output. The potential economic value of this is considerable.

Combined with the current market price of Cordyceps, the economic value of Cordyceps is estimated to have exceeded 2.7 billion yuan (395 million US dollars) in 2018. Excavating for Cordyceps has become an important source of income for local farmers and nomads.

In recent years, local governments at different levels in Qinghai have successively issued a series of policies, regulations, and management measures to further strengthen the management and protection of Cordyceps resources. They have also actively guided farmers and nomads to excavate Cordyceps in a systematic and reasonable way, so that the use of Cordyceps resources will be put into a sustainable development track.
