June 15,2018--On June 1st, International Children’s Day, the first collection of Tibetan children’s rhymes, Gangjian Children’s Rhymes, was published in Xining City of Northwest China’s Qinghai Province.

Gangjian Children’s Rhymes collected popular children’s melodies in Tibet Autonomous Region and Tibetan-inhabited areas in Qinghai, Sichuan, Yunnan, and Gansu provinces of China, and was the result of almost five years of work by Tibetan musician Langjar Chumai Tserang and his team. Tserang is from Golog Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Qinghai.

According to Tserang, this collection of children’s rhymes has maintained the authenticity of each song and its unique regional character. By comparing different versions, they chose songs which are most comprehensive, tasteful, and appropriate for children.

Gangjian Children’s Rhymes features 15 songs, cartoon illustrations, as well as photos of natural scenery with Tibetan flavor.
