The preschool in Yumai Township, Longzi County, Tibet Autonomous Region, opens on Nov. 20th, 2019. Jan.15,2020 -- In recent years, Tibet Autonomous Region has increased education investment to narrow the gap between urban and rural areas.
Preschools are accessible to 66.8% of villages in the region. In 2020, Tibet will implement the phase III Preschool Education Action Plan with the goal of raising the preschool enrolment rate to 85%.
12,062 children and teenagers who dropped out of school have been readmitted. Secondary high schools in the region have enrolled 23,193 students, up 4,045 compared with last year.
In 2019, teacher training and evaluation systems in Tibet have been improved to enhance their expertise and creativity. 98.4% of teachers meet the academic qualifications for teachers and those with junior or senior professional titles account for 40.6% of the total staff. 1,478 village teachers won the Lifetime Achievement Award or other honorary titles.
