Jan.13,2020 -- A folk art exhibition featuring China’s northwestern Qinghai province kicked off Thursday in Katmandu, capital of Nepal.

The exhibition was organized by the Information office of the People's Government of Qinghai and Beijing Xieli Huanyu Economic and Cultural Communication Center. Jagat, dean of the Nepalese Academy and Dong Jieren, deputy head of the Publicity Department of the CPC Qinghai Provincial Committee, attended the opening ceremony.

Jagat said that the friendship between Nepal and China has a long history and was elevated to a higher level in 2019. The two countries have a lot in common in ethnic pluralism and natural landscape diversity. We hope that the exhibition will strengthen the cultural and artistic cooperation between the two sides.

Dong said that we hope to take the opportunity to present the colorful ethnic cultures and magnificent natural beauty of Qinghai to the Nepalese audience and promote cultural exchanges between the two countries.

Over 200 photos and a number of exquisite Thangkas featuring nature, ethnic culture, local customs and economic and social achievements in Qinghai were exhibited. A documentary about Qinghai was also screened at the ceremony. The Thangkas and photos will also be on display in Sri Lanka.
