Jan.7, 2020 -- The first film ever made in Guoluo Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, known as the “hometown of Gesar culture”, made its debut in Xining city, capital of northwest China’s Qinghai province.
The film titled Gesar Tibetan Opera was directed by Jiaxi Dongqiang, a young director from the Bureau of Culture, Sports, Tourism, Radio and Television of Dari County in Guoluo. Based on Gesar culture and featuring children, the film focuses on the indigenous culture of Guoluo and shows the resolution, wisdom and creativity of the Guoluo people to inherit excellent ethnic cultures.
Its debut heralded a new stage for the preservation and publicity of Gesar culture. Steady progress has been made in the construction of the National Experiment Zone for the Protection of Gesar Culture, which will inject a new vigor into the passing down of Gesar culture and boost innovation in this regard, said Duojie Jiancuo, deputy director of the Publicity Department of the CPC Guoluo Prefectural Committee.
Guoluo is the cradle of Gesar culture and has the most King Gesar singers in China. Guoluo is also the core place to inherit the world’s longest heroic epic the Life of King Gesar, said Duojie.
