A one-month photo exhibition to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the emancipation of Tibetan Serfs was launched Tuesday in Macao Friendship Plaza.

The exhibition, which was sponsored by China (Macao) Tibet Association for Cultural and Economic Development, features 425 precious pictures on Tibet’s democratic reform and the region’s 60 years of social development.

In 1959, Tibet’s feudal serfdom under theocracy was abolished, and Tibetans were unshackled from feudal political oppression.

The photo exhibition is held to show the great transformation that Tibet has witnessed over the past 60 years. The event will help the people of Macao gain a better understanding of the history and the present situation of Tibet, and further strengthen cooperation between Tibet and Macao.
