Direct flights from Lhasa to Hefei launched

Apr. 2, 2019 -- A direct air route between Lhasa, capital of Tibet, and Heifei, capital of central China’s Anhui province, was launched Sunday, with the taking-off of a China West Air aircraft from the Lhasa Gongga International Airport.

Anhui has been providing aid to Shannan city and three counties of Cona, Comai and Nakartsein Tibet since 2002. A total of 2.032 billion yuan of aid funds has been invested in Tibet and 416 aid projects have been implemented, which has greatly promoted the economic and social development of Shannan city.

The airline operates two round-trip flights daily. Flight PN6393 will depart from Lhasa at 9:30 a.m. and arrive in Hefei at 13:00 p.m.. The return flight PN6394 will leave Hefei at 13:50 p.m. and arrive in Lhasa at 17:45.

Being the first direct air route from Lhasa to Hefei, it will attract more tourists and further promote the economic and cultural exchanges between Tibet and Anhui.
