|July 16,2018--“2018 International Students Focus on China” kicked off Thursday in Beijing. The event is sponsored by the State Council Information Office (SCIO) and organized by China Intercontinental Communication Center (CICC).
The event offers an opportunity to nearly 50 oversea students from Renmin University of China, Beihang University and Beijing Language and Culture University to visit Tibetan areas in southwest China’s Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in late July, experiencing the beautiful landscape and the rapid economic and social development of the region.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Ren Xiangqun, deputy director of the Human Rights Affairs Department of the SCIO, said the event will help oversea students better understand China’s diversified culture and experience China’s great efforts on poverty reduction.
Chen Lujun, director of the CICC, said he hoped the oversea students could see the region through their hearts and cameras, bringing a visual feast to the world.
The event provides a rare chance to oversea students in China to get a closer look at the Tibetan culture and also helps them expand their horizon, said Zhang Haocheng, a French student from Beihang University.
