The event featured exhibitions on China’s poverty reduction and the cultures of southwest China’s Sichuan Province, and a gala evening themed on the cooperation between China and Panama. 

 

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Sun Zhijun, Vice Minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, said the cooperation between China and Panama has been expanding rapidly since the two sides established diplomatic relations one year ago. This event is one of the specific measures to implement the agreement that the two governments have reached.

 

Tamaris Hernandez, a local university student, said through the exhibitions she got a better understanding of Chinese culture. Chinese food, clothing and buildings displayed at the event impressed her a lot. 

 

The event series will also be held in Costa Rica, Mexico and Cuba.
