Zi-na Lobsang Tenpa Gyaltsen was recognized as the 27^th Zi-na Living Buddha in 1944. He was a member of the Standing Committee of the 10th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC),  head of the Buddhist Association of Qinghai and vice chairman of the CPPCC Qinghai Provincial Committee.
