Tibet steps up efforts to enhance ecological protection

Jan. 22, 2018 -- Fruitful results have been achieved in Tibet’s efforts to strenghten ecological protection.
 
10 counties, 173 towns and 1,924 administrative villages have been listed as the region’s ecological models.
 
Lhasa has taken a series of measures to become a national model of environmental protection.
 
Nyingchi city has launched a batch of projects, becoming the region’s first to complete ecological civilization construction. Its Bayi District has been included in the first batch of the national ecological civilization demonstration counties.
 
In Damxung County of Lhasa, non-governmental environmental protection organizations have been founded by villagers to protect wetlands.
