Dec.20,2017--From 2018 to 2020, Tibet is expected to receive 20 million tourists from its “pair-up” provinces and cities, said Wei Hongtao, vice chairman of China National Tourism Administration (CNTA).
A meeting for the program “Take a winter trip to beautiful Tibet” was held Monday in Beijing to promote the folk customs, natural scenery and wildlife in Lhasa, the city of sunlight.
The CNTA has attached great importance to providing pair-up assistance to Tibet and will channel more resources into promoting the region’s tourism industry, said Wei Hongtao.
Xu Zhijun, deputy secretary general of the People's Government of Beijing Municipality, said Lhasa has become the most popular travel destination among Beijing citizens and in the future more of them will visit Lhasa and other places in Tibet.
At the meeting, “2018 Beijing Tourists Aiding Tibet Agreement” was signed between the Tourism Development Commissions of Beijing and Tibet.
Tibet’s tourism is entering a new era of development, said Doje Cezhug, vice chairman of Tibet.
