Nov. 20, 2017 -- Documentaries Born in China and The Third Polar featuring nature and people in west China were screened Wednesday evening at Edwards Cinema in Los Angeles.
Born in China tells a story about how giant pandas, snow leopards, golden monkeys and antelopes grow up and live, and The Third Polar reflects the harmony between people and nature on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
Heidi, a ten-year-old American girl, said that the wonderful documentaries, especially Born in China, satisfied her curiosity about China. She knew nothing but pandas and the Great Wall before watching the documentaries.
The documentary show is part of the “Experience China in 2017”, a cultural event which is co-sponsored by the State Council Information Office (SCIO) of China and the Chinese Consulate General in Los Angeles.
Tan Jiefu, an 82-year-old oversea Chinese in America, said he cares about China’s developments and admires President Xi’s innovative governance.
Initiated by the SCIO in 2015, the cultural event to showcase Chinese culture and boost cultural exchanges has been held in 10 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, Germany, the United Kingdom and Iran.
