Xizang is an important guarantor of China’s environmental security. On the Seventh National Meeting on Xizang, President Xi Jinping stressed that “ we need to turn Xizang into a pioneer in national and international ecological conservation”. Xizang Autonomous Region will follow closely the Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization and implement the decisions and plans made by central government on the building of ecological civilization, remain committed to global visions and systematic thinking, proceed from the global ecology and national environment, focus on the sustainable development and the future of the Chinese nation. We will make full use of the advantages and strength of ecology where lies the highest value, responsibility, potential and contribution, carry out actions in ten aspects in light of actual conditions including learning and training of Xi Jinping’s Thought on Ecological Civilization, ecological preservation and restoration, construction of carbon neutrality demonstration center, battle against pollution, construction of ecological civilization demonstration center, eco-culture cultivation, green industry development, biodiversity conservation, revitalization of rural ecology, and the modernization of the environment governance. We are making efforts to further Xizang’s environmental and ecological governance mechanism, advance the modernization of governance capacity, and transform Xizang into a strategic guarantor of China’s environmental security, a demonstration zone of harmony between humanity and nature, a trial region of green development, a model of environmental protection and a pioneer to enrich the people through ecological conservation, and strive to become a pioneer in national ecological conservation, and take the lead in China’s efforts to promote ecological conservation.
