Augmented Reality and the Positive Spread of Tibetan History and Culture

Augmented Reality (AR) is a high-tech that has emerged in recent years. It can combine virtual information with the real world to provide users with more interactive information. It is being widely used in various fields, and it also opens up new possibilities for the external communication of local history and culture. The augmented reality mobile application “Ingress” has many users at home and abroad, and has spread the history and culture of Tibet in the eyes of ordinary netizens through the “user-generated content” (UGC) knowledge production method, but the existing content exists for Tibetan history has issues as cultural misinterpretation, random labeling, political sensitivity and, and the total amount of content has a bigger room for improvement than the mainland. Tibetan government and tourism enterprises may actively participate in content production, and on this basis, organize domestic and foreign tourists to carry out tourism in Tibet based on “augmented reality” and spread positive and objective Tibetan history and culture.
