May 24,2017--Chinese and Ukrainian scholars held a roundtable discussion in Kiev Monday on the development trend in Buddhism and religious policies in Ukraine and across the world.
The discussion, which was held in the Institute of Philosophy at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, attracted over 30 religious scholars and Buddhist believers.
Living Buddha Thubten Dakpa of Gyarsolin Monastery shared his experience of learning Buddhist dharma. Li Jian, research assistant of China Tibetology Research Center, introduced the latest research on Thangka.
Many countries are interested in Tibetan Buddhism but they know little about it and sometimes there is misunderstanding. This roundtable discussion aims to promote the understanding of Tibetan Buddhism in Ukraine, said Zheng Dui, head of the delegation.
Clodery, president of the Ukraine Association for Religious Studies, believed that the research on Buddhism will bring benefits to Ukraine.
